What is MECC?
The Marine Energy Collegiate Competition (MECC) is an international competition comprised of college level teams. These teams are tasked with:
- Developing a real-world marine energy concept that can be brought into the world
- Exploring how marine energy technologies can benefit a selected maritime industry
- Building the skills and industry connections that will help them prepare for careers in the marine energy sector and the blue economy
Brief History of Duck Duck Goose
Duck Duck Goose is a rookie team. They started after the Faculty Advisor, Saffeer Khan, found out about the competition in the spring of 2023, and reached out to the now Student Lead, Jacob Silknitter, to start and develop a team for the competition.
Team Structure
The team is structured to have a President leading the whole team, a Business President to lead non-engineering tasks and a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering tasks. Under them are more members and subteams all working together to make this project a reality.
